6- Skin problems
Itchy and irritated skin, possibly caused by poor circulation, can usually be a red flag of diabetes. Other skin issues can be a sign of diabetes as well, for example acanthosis nigricans, which is a blackening of the skin around the armpit area or the neck. People who develop this already suffer from insulin resistance, even though their blood sugar levels may not be high.
5- Slow healing
Cuts, infections, and bruises which don’t heal rapidly are an additional diabetes red flag.
This generally happens when your blood vessels have been negatively impacted by the significant levels of glucose traveling in your arteries and veins. This makes it hard for blood circulation—which is required for healing—to reach different areas of the body.
